MAHARA

MAHARA is an Arabic word which means skilled. The word MAHER is a masculine name and used to describe a skilled man. The feminine is MAHERA and used to describe a skilled woman. MAHARA means to be clever, to master the work brilliantly and be excelled in it.
 
An Overview

MAHARA is a community initiative of TABYEEN Centre for research and training to support people in the UAE in the implementation of the 2030 Sustainable Development Plan adopted by the United Nation at its meeting held on September 25, 2015, in which the UAE has registered and supported this sustainable development plan.

Our focus was on empowering the members of society to develop and grow psychologically, socially, professionally and economically because skilled individuals in managing their life and work constitute a solid community base that has a strong and powerful impact on the growth of any society, and also rich communities possess skilled individuals in crafts and industries that reflect their past, present and future.

We are in TABYEEN Centre for Research and Training believe that a person who has a productive value in life is far from any psychological or mental disorder. He is balanced in his thinking, feelings and behaviour, and therefore he is useful to himself and useful to others.

MAHARA is for every person who wishes to develop his personal and practical skills to break into the world of commerce and industry or has already entered this world and needs guidance and counselling so that he can contribute with confident steps and skills in the world he has chosen.

MAHARA establishes a new stage for women and men who will be able to rely on themselves in planning their professional and economic future and will be able to create local and international business and professional partnerships for sustainable economic development based on skill and workmanship, and based on a correct understanding of self and personal abilities and powers, and to develop psychological, family and social concepts that will support them to enjoy a personal, family and professional balanced life even if they decide to work from home.

MAHARA will open up areas for multi-stakeholder partnerships to share knowledge, expertise, technology and financial resources to support the achievement of the sustainable development goals of the Arab family through the empowerment of women and men.
